Running our own small ISP network

We provide internet service to customers across multiple buildings on a network we run ourselves. I manage the routing, switching and access points it's built on, keep it up, and support the customers who depend on it.

Microsoft 365, end to end

Onboarding and offboarding, licensing, Exchange mailboxes, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive, MFA and the access policies that decide who gets in, all run through the Microsoft 365 admin center across multiple tenants.

The phone system, from trunk to desk phone

A Grandstream PBX: extensions, ring groups, auto attendants and call routing, SIP trunks to the carrier, desk-phone provisioning, and tracking down call-quality problems before customers notice them.

The help desk, and the security behind it

Remote support, hardware and software troubleshooting and clear documentation for 100+ users. Behind the tickets: monitoring and SIEM alerts, risk assessment, access-control enforcement and incident response.

Our own operations and billing platform

We were paying a monthly subscription for a commercial ISP billing and operations suite built for everyone. I rebuilt the parts we actually use, tailored to how our team works: every customer, quote, hour and invoice now lives in one system we own.

Quotes become jobs, time logged against a job flows into both the customer's invoice and the employee's timesheet, and recurring service is billed without anyone re-entering it.

The problem

A general-purpose subscription suite, paid monthly, that made the team work its way instead of ours.

The approach

Rebuild only what we use, around one customer record, with role-based access and an audit trail from day one.

The result

No more re-entering hours between systems, invoices built from logged work, and no recurring licence fee.

Private AI document search

A retrieval pipeline running the Qwen 14B model on our own hardware, with a Next.js interface and admin controls. Staff get cited answers from internal documents in seconds, and nothing is sent to an outside AI service.

How I build

Ship it, then ask what's missing

Every build starts with a problem I hit at work. I use AI tools to move faster, and they sharpen my thinking: once something is live I'm already asking what could be better, what's missing and what to build next. It's a never-ending problem-solving loop, and it's the part of the job I enjoy most.

Every design decision, review and deployment is mine.

How I work
  • Client relationsStraight answers and a clear next step.
  • Technical communicationWhat broke and what changed, in plain words.
  • LeadershipI coordinate support and own outcomes, not just tickets.
  • Process improvementDone by hand twice means it gets built once.

IT and network services · multiple buildings and client environments
  • Run our small ISP network end to end: routing, switching, access points and the customers on it, across multiple buildings.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 across client tenants, plus the company phone system.
  • Lead the help desk and support security operations, from monitoring and access control to incident response.
  • Design and ship internal software, including the operations and billing platform that replaced a commercial subscription.
